We're closer than ever to passing Medicaid parity in NY.

 

We can get this bill over the finish line!

The DMEPOS Medicaid parity bill in NY S8838/A10576 has done what only a handful of bills ever do...
It passed both the NY Senate and Assembly UNOPPOSED (for the 2nd year in a row)! 

 

The bill will now head to the Governor's desk this fall. (Date TBA)

 

What's different this year?

We now have an actuarial analysis from Deloitte highlighting to NY leaders that the state already funds Medicaid MCOs to pay providers at the state's Fee-for-Service level—and MCOs retain surplus funding on top of that. (The previous fiscal objection doesn't hold up under scrutiny.)

 

Why this matters!

New Yorkers with Medicaid deserve equal access to orthotics, prosthetics, and durable medical equipment.

Providers can't serve them without fair reimbursement! (In fact, there has been an attrition of provider locations over past decade.)

The state already funds this.
